Liina 3x BIG2 in Romania

Liina finished off her show year strong with Nikos. They attended 3x shows in Arad, Romania (2xInternational, 1x National) and did fantastic. Liina came home with 2xCACIB, 3xCAC, 3xBOB & 3xBIG2!

Additionally, she also earned the title of Transylvanian Winner 2016, Romanian Champion and Romanian Grand Champion! Great job little girl.

During Liina’s 3 week tour with Nikos she earned 3xCACIB, 3xresCACIB, 6xCAC, 4xBOB, 4xBIG2, a Winner title, Championships in Slovenia and Romania, and opened championships in Greece and Hungary.  Not too shabby. Now everyone is home and being treated to some much needed rest and relaxation.

Liina now has 4x CACIB in 3 countries, so we must wait until May to try to close her International Champion title.

A big thank you as always to the dog’s handler and “home away from home” with Nikos and Anna at Sunshineland kennel in Hungary.

Baxter BOB in Lendava

On the second show weekend with Nikos, my little dogs did equally as well.

On Saturday they were shown by Nikos’ wife Anna at the IDS in Kecskemet, Hungary under judge S. Zsolt (HU).

Both Baxter and Liina received- Ex1, CAC, resCACIB

With that Baxter became a new Hungarian Champion and Liina opened her Hungarian Championship!

On Sunday the team traveled to Lendava, Slovenia where the competition was tough as there were many dachshund from Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and Hungary present.

Liina was second best bitch (the winning bitch went onto BOB and BIG1) and received Exc1, CAC, resCACIB.

Baxter was the star of the day. In his last official show he received: Exc1, CAC, CACIB, BOB!

With these results, both Baxter and Liina also became Champions of Slovenia!

As I mentioned, Baxter is more or less “done” with his show career. He has done more than I could ever have imagined, earning 16 Champion titles, numerous winner titles, BIG placings and several CACIBs (now 3 more to add to the pile!). He is a pretty dog, but I want to also show off his other talents in the field. He is a driven dog in the forest and I hope to see how he does also in practical hunting. This final BOB in Lendava was icing on the cake and a wonderful way for my special boy to finish.

Baxter did fabulous this show season (he was only shown 4 times this year!) earning:

4xExc1, 4xCAC, 1xresCACIB, 3xCACIB, 3xBOB, 1xBIG3, 1xBIG4  and 3 new Championships in Greece, Hungary, and Slovenia.

Success at Thessaloniki IDS

While I have been working and planning for future endeavours, the dogs have been off making me proud.

At the 2x International Dog Shows in Thessaloniki, Greece, Nikos did a great job (as always) showing the dogs. For Baxter, this was old hat as he had been showing with Nikos last year, but this was brand new for Liina.

I am happy to report the following results:

Saturday:

Liina: BF2, resCAC, resCACIB

Baxter: BM1, CAC, CACIB, BOB, BIG3 –> New Greek Champion

Sunday:

Liina: BF1, CAC, CACIB, BOB, BIG2!

Baxter: BM1, CAC, CACIB, BOB, BIG4

So Proud of Baxter, Liina, and Nikos for being a great team!

Den training in Denmark

On Saturday, we all crossed the bridge and the dogs had a go at the Danish den. For Liina, this was her first encounter with the fox. It seems that all the dogs took to the fox a lot better than the Swedish badger! Liina did so well for her first time and had no issues moving through the tunnels and was a natural “barker”. The trainer said he was very impressed and if this would have been a test, he would have graded her a high second prize. Good job little one! Baxter is more cautious and needs more training, but he also did decent work, moved well through the den, but needs a bit more drive on the fox.

Freddie was, as ever, the star. We had 2 foxes for training that day, a calm fox (which Liina and Baxter were trained on) and a tough fox. Well, the fox and Freddie were egging each other on and barking (Foxes don’t really bark, but well…) at each other and going quite mad. Denmark is one of the only countries where the normal test consists of an open den and Freddie got to try that. He came out of the den with some scratches and a small bite on the nose, but he did excellent work and was extremely angry that he couldn’t go back in and howled in the car for the remainder of the practice. Our trainer for the day thought he as excellent and was definitely 1st prize work and well within reach of champion points (in Denmark 67-75 points is Champion level). We will train one more time and see if he backs off a bit more and learned to respect the fox while still putting on a lot of pressure. If this goes well, we will try him in a test or two this autumn.

Liina received: Exc1 CK CERT and finally BIM! With the final CK, this finished Liina’s Swedish Champion title, thus also unlocking several more beauty titles.

We are happy to announce:

Barbwired Champagne

Below are Liina’s “winnings” since starting her show career in March 2015 (only her Finnish trophies are missing). Quite the little show girl! Hopefully more to come!

Roskilde IDS

Liina and I traveled over the bridge on the 30th of April and prayed that the horrible windy, rainy, cold weather would stay in Sweden! We were fortunate that Roskilde had a proper spring day with sunshine and mild weather. Liina was showed in Working class/jaktklass/brugshundeklasse at this exhibition and received a great evaluation!

Exc1 CK CERT CACIB Best female 2!

We are very excited to have a CERT towards the Danish Champion title as well as starting the international championship!

Liina BF3 at the Tvååker Spring Exhibition

On Saturday our little crew was up early to travel up to Tvååker, Sweden for the Hallandstaxklubben spring exhibition. Liina was shown in Jaktklass and received the result:

Exc 1, CK, Best Female 3, res-CERT!

Judge for the day was Svante Frisk (SE).

It was a nice day with nice people.

After watching the standard wires finish up in the ring, we headed back to Skåne. We took a little walk before ending our day and the woods are starting to wake up and feel like spring! 🙂
